Feeling droopy

As the hot and humid weather continues I have tried to create a picture which expresses how I feel.

Very droopy and not feeling like doing anything very much.

Sleeping when you can!

I just love this picture of Tom and the children that Emma posted on Facebook today.

As my eldest daughter remarked. When you have the chaos of a new baby you just have to sleep when you can!  Reminds me of when I did this….

Ants everywhere

I seem to have spent most of the time today clearing up after ants.  They are everywhere including in some packets of expensive nuts.  That meant heating them up so the ants went away.

Its ant time of year so I don’t suppose this is the last time I will have to do it.  Its more or less impossible to keep them away from the house, even when using strong chemicals which of course I don’t want to use.

I love these two pictures of Emma and her children that I was sent today.

Back home

They all went home today.  What a relief.

On the way home

This is a picture of Elsie leaving the Intensive Care Unit to spend the night next to Emma.  Looks like she doesn’t have a care in the world.

They should both be going home today.

Brother meets sister

I love this picture of Sam meeting Elsie for the first time.  The high point of the visit was when he gave her a toy as a present.  This involved opening the door of the incubator and passing the toy through.

The high point of the visit for him.

Absorbing recent events

This is a picture of Elsie one day after her birth after the blood transfusion had finished.  She is now much more pink, lively and starting to open her eyes.

Everyone is obviously still feeling very emotional about what happened.  I got the chance to talk to Emma today. Elsie was moved from the intensive care to the high dependency unit which is one step towards the door.

New baby

Was up a lot of last night while Emma had an emergency c-section.  She went to the hospital because the baby was not moving very much.  Eventually they decided to start labour because it looked as if the baby was in some distress.  They broke the waters which ran out green, showing that the baby was probably very distressed.  So they decided to do an immediate c-section.

When Elsie was born she was very white and floppy.  It seems she had anaemia and so was sent immediately to NICU for a blood transfusion.

I am SO relieved that both are OK and recovering.  Felt very tired all day!

Baby imagined

Had an acupuncture session today during which I had this extremely vivid image of the new baby.

The colours pulsated.

Light on the leaves

Was doing the watering this morning when I suddenly noticed how the light was shining on these leaves.

Really beautiful.

Technology troubles

Had a busy day going to a school to talk about one of our education programs and then trying to set up my new tablet. This together with several people coming to me and wanting me to do things.  At one point I felt seriously overwhelmed although everything did get done in the end.

Went to yoga class with lots of aches and pains which had all dissipated by the end of the class.  The picture is of the new banner which seems to have gone up by magic with Rajan and two friends.  I am very pleased with it although still a little bit worried about what will happen to it if we get any more high winds.

Lighter

With the depression breaking up everything seemed much brighter today.  I had felt the depression pressing down but it feels much lighter now.

As if there are springs around my feet.

Another grey day

Had what felt like a mini cyclone last night with very heavy rain and very strong winds.  But only for about ten minutes.  It was very peculiar.  Its been another grey day today although there have been some bright periods.  It feels like the depression is at last starting to break up.

The picture is of the new cactus garden made by three volunteers.  I am so pleased with it as it was getting rather overgrown.

Ouch!

Yesterday while I was picking beans I slipped on some mud on the path.  I fell down and hit my back against the bricks on the next bed.  It felt as if one of my vertebrae had hit the brick.  I remember thinking ‘I hoped I haven’t cracked one of my bones’.

Miraculously it seems there hasn’t been any repercussions.  Once I started feeling around my spine I realised how much muscle I have protecting those bones.  I went to  yoga in the evening and today it is a little bit sore but OK.

There seems to be lots of energy in the picture.  Maybe it is showing me I have to be a lot more alert and aware in a situation where a lot is happening.  Potentially if not actually.

Mini monsoon

It has rained for most of the day, but miraculously not during work time.  Its nice to be a bit cooler.

Despite all the rain there are not more than big puddles at the bottom of the ponds.  Which shows how dry the soil had got.

Rain and votes

Election day today and everything has been shut down – even the buses – by order of the state Government.  So it has been very quiet and boring.  I loved this Tshirt that Rajan made ‘my vote is not for sale’. Made in protest at all the different politicians going round his village giving out money for votes.

It has been a very grey and rainy day.  Wonderful to have the rain except that it hasn’t been enough to clear the air.  So I am sitting here still feeling hot a sweaty.

Big banner

Thought I would use this quiet day to modify our big poster.  It took such a long time to get the last one up and then it was almost too late.  The information was nearly out of date.

This time I have tried to make it more general so it will last longer.  I want to get it up as soon as possible because the last one hardly seemed to be up before it was taken down.

I really liked how it looked though.  So I want this version up as soon as possible.

Who is this?

Today I was doodling and this creature just appeared.  Amazing!

No idea what it is or what it represents….. something in me I suppose.  I feel it could be expressing a certain intensity I have felt as I wrote this latest report.

Slow day

Its been a slow day when I don’t feel very much has happened. Except I’ve been able to feel the space between the doing.  Which is what I have tried to picture.

It’s the start of a three day weekend.  We’ve all got to have a day off on Monday because of the elections.  Usually it makes me very cross, who needs a whole day off just to vote for goodness sake! This time I am going to enjoy doing lots of enjoyable things.  Although I am not quite sure what they are going to be.

Abstract

Woke up with a dreadful pain in the palm of my right hand.  I think it came from all the typing I’ve been doing for the report. Some of the yoga exercises we did on Monday and Tuesday may have added to the strain on my hands.  I am so relieved to have finally pulled the report together and sent it off to someone else to look at.

I’ve had more time to do things this morning, this picture being one of the things I was able to do.  The colours and shapes I really love and it was very satisfying to do.  I’ve also learnt more about how to use the software which is really good.

Was that rain?

I love this picture of Mitud looking around for rain.  He said he had felt a few drops fall on him although I hadn’t felt any.  Later I found a few drops had fallen on my step.

With more cloud and lightening seen last night we hopefully won’t have to wait too long for proper rain.  Hope it is not too destructive as it has been in other parts of India.

Flash feet

My new camera came today just a day after my old one finally died.  I am SO grateful to have it.  Very pleased to have the flash back as it died on my old one about a year ago.

Although maybe I could have chosen something a bit more interesting to use it on than a picture than my feet!!

Busy, busy, busy

Feel I have been stretched the whole day.  This morning two people turned up for the introductory course and wanted to talk, talk, talk.  This afternoon I sweated over a hot computer doing yet more work on this complicated report.

The picture is of a cashew – growing all by itself.  Reminding me that life goes on regardless………..

Brighter office

Feel I have worked very hard indeed today.  Have managed to finish the first draft of a very difficult report.

I feel very happy indeed that Rajan has finished off the pictures in the office.  We went to get them framed last week and he picked them up yesterday.  Then to day one of his friends came with a drill and put them up.  They make the place look so much brighter.  Wonderful!

So dry

The heat and dryness feel unrelenting.

This is a picture of our dried out pond that hasn’t seen a drop of water fall on it for over six months.

Evening light

I went out for an evening walk after a very hot day.  I love the relative coolness of this time especially when I have been slaving over a hot computer!

The Emperor

Saw Jo today and had a wonderful conversation.  My card to take away was the Emperor, which is about being present in the here and now.   In Buddha Garden there are so many positive changes possible.

I love this picture of dry leaves in Buddha Garden.  Especially knowing how they can be transformed into compost.

Our cat understands....

I have been SO busy today writing and attending meetings.

Why can’t I be more like our cat? He understands completely that its not a good idea to rush around, or even do anything, in this weather!

Sun

This hot weather our solar system works hard.

Busy day with Farm Group meeting which meant an urgent letter to draft as well as doing the notes.

Hot weather play

I love this picture of a bunch of children who came to Buddha Garden this afternoon with Lakshita.

No complaining about the heat, just lots of fun getting wet with the misters in the nursery.

Another picture!

Another Sunday when I have been writing away getting ready this time for a Farm Group meeting next week.  Have managed to do the last poster for the office though.

Had a long chat with Vivek and Rajan who suggested that we frame the posters as they will last longer.  Will do that next week and hope they won’t be too heavy to hang up.
