After a lot of effort we managed
to get everything ready for making a rice padi and millet patch in the Deepanam
school vegetable garden. This involved
getting two cement rings, putting them in the right place and then filling them
with soil. The picture is of Selvam with
several students mixing up the soil, compost and water – or puddling as it is
known.
I got very cross with one student
who wouldn’t join in because she would get soil under her nails!
